From the recording Love Letters in the Time of Covid
Honoring Pain is a bit of a departure from my typical fare. I felt like I needed to use the voice to truly give homage to pain. The cello drone feels like the ever present, underlying, wail of trauma and pain that I have felt throughout 2020 and the duet between the vocals and oboe illustrates the dance we all do on top of that drone of anguish. Beautiful and haunting.
